Patty Comstock

Patricia “Patty” (Steele) Comstock, 63, of Danville passed away at 3:41pm, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at her home. She was born the daughter of Albert and Violet (Vallangeon) Gasior on February 21, 1951 in Danville. She was united in marriage to Jack Comstock on July 13, 1999, in Las Vegas, Nevada, until his passing on July 1, 2011. She is survived by: her sister, Nancy Gumm of Georgetown; her nieces & nephews, Kim (Michael) White, Buddy Knight, David Knight, Cody Gumm, Jill Gumm, and Jake Gumm; and her six great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents and one sister, Sandra Knight. Patty was a member of the Second Church of Christ. She loved to travel and was always up for an adventure. She also enjoyed playing cards especially Euchre. Patty will be deeply missed by all who knew her especially the children she taught she loved them like her own children. A celebration of Patty’s life will be held privately. Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery at a later date.

Phyllis Janet Payne

Phyllis Janet Payne, 61, of Bismarck, went to be with the lord on September 19, 2014 peacefully at her home with her husband by her side. She was born on May 3, 1953 in San Jose, CA, the daughter of Richard and Georgina (Brinley) Ragona. She married Michael Payne on September 1, 1973 in Long Beach, CA, he survives. Phyllis will be deeply missed by her father, husband, one son, William (Jamie) Hickey of Paris, IL, daughter, Heather (Robert) McMasters of Danville, sisters, Colleen Doyle of CA, Lorrie Ragona of WA, grandchildren; William, Joanna, Taylor, Madison and Jenna. She was preceded in death by her mother, and one brother. Phyllis was a kind loving women and never had an enemy. She worked at Teepak, Wal-Mart and AutoZone for several years. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, vacationing in the Rocky Mountains, spending time with her grandchildren, who she loved immensely, her husky dogs and cat. Phyllis and Michael just got to enjoy 42 wonderful years together on September 1, 2014. Services are pending at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Alexander “Alex” Baker

Alexander “Alex” Baker, 67, of Danville passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Alex was born October 11, 1946 in Danville, the son of Joseph E. and Bernice M. (Hughes) Baker. He married Peggy Wolfe on July 8, 1972 in Danville. Alex was a member of Central Park Church of Christ. For 35 years, Alex was the Voice of District 118, working as the switchboard operator and jack of all trades for the Danville School District. He was a diehard NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. being his favorite driver. He also was a big movie buff, enjoyed gardening, and listening to Reba. Alex has a special place in his heart for his two cats, Precious and Pixie. Alex is survived by his wife of 42 years, Peggy (Wolfe) Baker of Danville; his mother, Bernice Baker of Tilton; a sister, Kathie Borst of Tilton; uncle, Leroy Baker; two aunts, Donna Hughes and Gayle Baker; niece, Dana (Eric) Burress of Tilton; nephew, Jason (Ashley) Borst of Danville; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Baker; a nephew, Steven Borst; a brother-in-law, Randy Borst; and his mother and father-in-law, Jake and Betty Wolfe. A memorial service to celebrate Alex’s life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 25th at Central Park Church of Christ. Pastor Wade Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. FITHIAN – Judith Anne “Judy” Evans, 66, of Fithian passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Judy was born June 2, 1948 in Danville, the daughter of Charles L. and Margaret (White) Cottle. On June 10, 2001 she married her soulmate, Warren Evans in Danville. Judy went to Bismark High School and attended DACC while raising her family. She worked for CRIS Senior Services in Danville assessing patients’ needs in their homes. She also worked for Walgreens, Carle, and the Vermilion County Courthouse during her time in the work force. Judith loved music, and anything outdoors, especially gardening. She had a knack for decorating for the holidays, and loved any time spent on the back of the Harley with her husband. Her family was a huge part of her life, and she loved spending as much time with them as she could. Judy is survived by her husband, Warren Evans of Fithian; five children, Cressa (Scott) Hazelbaker of Lake Charles, LA, Joanna (Chase) Pickering of St. Joseph, Marca (Jay) Ollis of Muncie, IL, Patrick Mack of Fithian, and Greg (Kelly) Evans of Oak Harbor, WA; seventeen grandchildren, Megan Hazelbaker, Katie Hazelbaker, Isaiah Hazelbaker, Cheyenne Hazelbaker, Jacy Miller, Ian Miller, Riley Miller, Maxwell Miller, Reese Miller, Lily Pickering, Liam Pickering, Courtney Ollis, Rheanna Ollis, Harlowe Mack, Lucas VanEsch, Jake Evans, and Wyatt Evans; three great grandchildren; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters, Jennifer Cottle, Charlotte Schumate, and Jane Hamilton; and her father-in-law, Floyd Evans. A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 26th at Sunset’s Oakwood Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. James ‘Jimmy’ Rhoton

James ‘Jimmy’ Rhoton, 89, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 5:55pm, Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Presence USMC, Danville. He was born on December 13, 1924, the son of Ezra and Delcie {Netherton} Rhoton. On December 28, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mary Butz. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by: his daughters, Donna Kearns of Olivet & Cheryl Evans of Georgetown; his grandchildren, Troy Miller, Jimmy Lamar, Anthony Dompe, & Terra Holler; and his great grandchildren, Jaxen Davis, Madyx Davis, Sabrina Miller, & Zach Miller. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his sister; and his son-in-law, Bill. Jimmy owned and operated the Marathon Gas Station in Ridge Farm and was a mechanic at the Peterson Filling Company for 20 years. He was a proud Veteran of the US Navy and served during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the Musician Union. He enjoyed spending time with his family. A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at 3:00pm, Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm. Carole Hafner, 56, of Danville, passed away on September 20, 2014 at North Logan Healthcare in Danville. She was born on November 15, 1957 in Danville, the daughter of Randall and Betty (Dolbee) Pate. She married Jon Hafner on May 22, 1976 in Tilton, IL and he survives. Carole will be deeply missed by her mother, Betty Pate, husband, Jon Hafner, daughter, Joy (Darren Winkler) Hafner, brother, Ronald (Linda) Pate, half brothers, Michael (Evelyn) Brooks, Randy (Diane) Brooks and Karli (Stephani) Schnur, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Randall Pate, one son, Jacob Hafner and her grandparents. Carole received her associate’s degree from Danville Area Community College and worked at Genpact in Danville for over 25 years. She was also a secretary at the Vermilion County Clerk’s office. Carole walked in many charity events to support cancer and was a member of Central Park Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her kids, playing the guitar and listening to music, grilling out and enjoying the outdoors, watching NHRA and NASCAR racing, reading and gardening. A celebration of life graveside service for Carole will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville with Wade Martin officiating. Burial will take place at the cemetery following the graveside rites. In lieu of flowers memorials can be left to the family for purchase of the grave marker. Edna L. Wright, 81, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 9:20am, Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on March 5, 1933, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of Lester and Mildred {Hunt} Wright, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Richard Wright on July 1, 1951, at State Line Christian Church near Blanford, IN. He will miss her dearly. She will also be missed by: her sons, Peter Wright of Florida & David Wright of Decatur; her daughters, Jeannie (Nick) Mussatto of Clinton, IN, Rita Bendekovich of Decatur, Karen Wright of Westville, & Terrie Lewis of Florida; her grandchildren, Korena Schefke, Errol Mussatto, Heather Evans, Kyle Wright, & Ashley Lewis; her seven great grandchildren; and her half-brothers, Donald McCauley of Clinton, IN, Charles McCauley of Clinton, IN, & Gary Wright of Terre Haute. She was preceded in death by: her grandson, Anthony Bendekovich; her half-brother, Kenneth Wright; and her sisters, Betty Wright & Ruth Mathes. Edna enjoyed making a home for her family. She attended Ridge Farm Church of Christ. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed doing genealogy and enjoyed being on the computer. She was known to love to laugh and have fun. Edna especially loved being with her family & cherished her grandkids. A celebration of Edna’s life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Sunset’s Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Charles Davis officiating. Urbana- Charles A. “Chuck” Dickson, 60, of Urbana passed away at 1:30 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at his home. He was born on September 29, 1953 in Danville, IL to Ernest and Jeanette Edmiston Dickson. He is survived by his daughter, Emily (Joe) Marks of Danville, and the mother of his daughter, Tenna Corbin of Hoopeston; three sisters, Cindy Swaney of Covington, IN, Cathy Snyder of Danville, and Cheryl (Lorin) Kinney of Fithian; granddaughter, Alexa Marks; and seven nieces and nephews, Donna Talbert, Patrick Swaney, Bobby Snyder, Brandon Swaney, Cassy Ruggs, Jana Snyder, and Caleb Kinney. He was preceded in death by his parents. Chuck was artistically gifted and was talented with drawing and playing guitar. He loved music and will be remembered as a smart, creative person. Chuck also loved animals, especially his cats and his bird. Per Chuck’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Gene Roy Megenhardt, 66, of Ellettsville, IN, passed away at 12 a.m. September 24, 2014 after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Gene was born October 20, 1947 in Brazil, IN, the son of Roy and Lois Megenhardt. He married Virginia N. Mallory on September 8, 1966 in Danville, IL. They were happily married for 36 years until her passing on April 19, 2003. He lived in the Oakwood area for over 60 years, at which time he moved to Ellettsville, IN and then married our wonderful step-mother, Linda (Landers) Steers on April 12, 2008 (formerly of the Shelbyville, IL area). They were married for six years. He is survived by his loving wife Linda, daughter Tammy (Megenhardt) Bales of Shepherdsville, KY, son Shawn (Kristin) Megenhardt of Champaign, IL, daughter Kari (Lincoln) Lynch of Shelbyville, IL; son Jason Steers of Shelbyville, IL and daughter Robyn (John) Carswell of Shelbyville, IL; seven grandchildren, Ross and Reed Reinier, Brayden and Brooklyn Lynch, and Savannah, Elizabeth, and Mary Katherine Carswell; and five nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia, mother Lois (Wright) Megenhardt, father Roy (Stickles) Megenhardt, brother Richard Megenhardt, and sister Beverly (Megenhardt) Watkins. Gene had been a lifelong member of the Oakwood Christian Church and a member of the Order of the Masonic Mason Free Will Lodge No. 872, where he was a 32nd Order. He worked at the Danville branch of Pepsi Cola for over 42 years beginning as a delivery driver to becoming a Regional Manager of both the Danville, IL and Bloomington, IN branches. He was known and respected for coaching Oakwood Little League Football and Baseball for over 10 years, serving also on the Oakwood High School Board of Education and the Oakwood Town Board. He was also one of the founding members of the Chapter organization of the ‘76er Jaycees. Anyone that knew Gene, knew his love for traveling to the southern states of KY and TN to enjoy the beauty of nature and fishing. He was a great leader for anyone who had been lucky enough to work with him, either at his former job at Pepsi or on any of the many committees’ over the years. But above all, he was a great father who never needed to speak of how to be an outstanding devoted individual, worker, father, friend, and husband- because he showed us daily by his actions just exactly what that was. He was a true pillar of strength and encouragement to everyone, but especially his family and loving wife. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him, but will never be forgotten. Danville – Debra Lynn Piper, 55, of Danville passed away at 9:17 PM on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on November 14, 1958 in Danville to Russell W. and Patricia Ann Oliphant Piper. They survive. She is also survived by three daughters, Brittany Newell of Danville, Amber (Trent) Lomax of Danville, and Christina (Telito Brigham) Newell of Danville; brother, Gregory “Scott” (Debi) Piper; a sister, Terri (John) Rogers; four grandchildren, Mikaela Felton, Nikiya Felton, Ethan Lomax, and Adalyn Lomax; four nieces and nephews, Heather Shields, Justin Card, Matthew Piper, and Kati Piper; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. Debra had worked as a telemarketer for Miracle Ear in Danville until their closing. She enjoyed reading, playing on the computer, singing, and horseback riding. She was also an avid Elvis fan, loved her dog Bubba, and was a fantastic cook who liked to try new recipes. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her grandkids and family. She was a loving woman and a second mom to many people, and will always be remembered for her big smile. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Debra Piper will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Oakwood – Jessie Mae Goodhue, 81, of Oakwood, passed away at 9:18 AM on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on August 21, 1933 in Temple Hill, KY to Thomas William and Mary Tinsley Wheeler. She married James Cecil Goodhue. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her nephew, Rick Wheeler, and his two daughters, Tria Seaton and Bobbie Jo Wheeler. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and 15 brothers and sisters. Jessie was an accountant with H & R Block for 30 years in charge of the Southern Illinois Region before opening her own tax business out of her home in Oakwood. She enjoyed making ceramics, and loved to collect jewelry, coins, baby dolls, and frogs. She was also a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Amvets Ladies Auxiliaries. A service to celebrate the life of Jessie Goodhue will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Sunset’s Oakwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Danville National Cemetery. Oakwood – Harriet “Sonya” Linne, 82, passed away September 25, 2014. Harriet was born the daughter of Newman and Florence Hamburg on August 25th, 1932 in Fulton, New York. She married Frank M. Linne on October 24, 1954 and was preceded in death by her loving husband on January 29, 2007. Harriet is survived by her two sons Rick (Bobbie) Linne of Oakwood, Kim(Pam) Linne of Danville, one daughter Kerri Stingley of Watseka; ten grand children Rikki Jo (Aaron) Linne, Ryan Linne, Randi Jo (John) Kilkenny, Andy (Jodie) Linne, Ashley (Ryan) Taylor, Allison (Brad) Fleehearty, Aimee (Jay) Miller, Taylor Kupcik, Aubrey and Amber Stingley; and eight great-grandchildren Henry and Reagan Kilkenny, Alec and Julia Watson, Gavin Fleehearty, Van and August Linne, and Austin Miller. Harriet is preceded in death by her parents, brother Kerry N. Hamburg and sister Jackie Corbett. Harriet is a proud graduate of Danville High School class of 1950 and life long member of Oakwood Christian Church. Ridge Farm – Charlotte Ann Griffin, 65, of Ridge Farm passed away at 2:30 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on December 20, 1948 in Boston, MA to Fred and Myra Hoffmann. She married David H. “Gerbil/Pops” Griffin on May 7, 1971 in Yuma, AZ. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2013. She is survived by her children, Sherri (Butch) Vice of Georgetown, Cassandra Griffin of Iowa, Tina (Bart Hayes) Griffin of Tilton, David (Patty) Griffin of Ridge Farm, and Dorothy Griffin of Danville; the grandchildren she raised, Ryan (Amber) Moore of Westville, Brittany Griffin of Ridge Farm, Crystal Griffin of Danville, Ashley Griffin of Iowa, William Griffin of Danville, and Lacey Griffin of Tennessee; as well as her other grandchildren, Willy Vice, Dylan Vice, and Grace Vice, Skyler Griffin, Brettnie and Bart Hayes, Kimberly and Amber Cohoon, Destanee Griffin, Sieara Harders, Jarred Brown, Colton Andrews, Mykenzie Miller, Alexia Andrews, Elizabeth Moore, and Ryan Moore, Jr., and Bethany Cottrill; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Addison McQuary, Brooklyn Martin, Jordan, Jayden, and Jasmine Taylor, Lily Vice, Ailyn and Addylee McQuary, and Marquiss, Aniya and Jannya Cottrill; two brothers, Fred Hoffmann, and Jimmy Hoffmann; and four sisters, Gaye Hoffmann, Carrie Hoffmann, Cindy Hoffmann, and Debbie Hoffmann. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard, and two sisters, Elizabeth and Lynn. Charlotte had worked as a restaurant manager across the United States, but had also worked as a CNA and most recently as a homemaker caring for her family. She loved to spend time with kids and grandkids, as well as all the rest of her family. Family meant everything to Charlotte and she raised not only her children, but her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and even friends. A service to celebrate the life of Charlotte Griffin will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Erma G. Wheeler

OAKWOOD – Erma G. Wheeler, 97, of Oakwood passed from our earth to a new life with her Lord September 26, 2014, at Gardenview Manor in Tilton. She was born the first child of Robert and Minnie (Baker) Burke on April 18, 1917, near Oakwood. As a young woman she moved to Indianapolis and secured a position as live-in nanny, cook and housekeeper for a small family. It was there in 1940 where she met and married her husband, Doyle. Upon his retirement, they returned to the Oakwood area. He passed away in 1981. She is survived by her daughter, Karen; and a brother, Russell of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers, Robert, Ralph, Richard, Roy and Raymond. Erma was a devoted wife and the best mother a kid could ever hope for. Her love was boundless. In accordance with her desire, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, and there will be no visitation or funeral. A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 1st at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Matt Filicsky officiating. So I am glad, not that my friend has gone, But that the earth she laughed and lived upon was my earth, too; That I had closely known and loved her, and that My loved I’d shown. Tears over her departure? Nay, a smile… That I had walked with her a little while, Glad her earth was my earth.

Danville – Michael D. Corzine, 50 passed away in Danville on September 26, 2014. Michael was born the son of Lowell and Helen (Golden) Corzine on April 17, 1964 in Danville, Illinois. Michael is survived by his two daughters Kayla and Lynzie Corzine both of Danville; his former wife Teresa Cadle of Danville; his mother Helen Corzine of Fithian, IL; his sister Sandy (Daniel) Jeffers of Fithian; and his niece April Jeffers of Fithian. Michael is preceded in death by his father Lowell O. Corzine. Michael is a lifelong member of the First Church of The Nazarene in Danville. Michael is a proud graduate of Oakwood High School, class of 1982. He was an athletic young man spending his days on the Oakwood High Basketball team. Michael always made time to support his daughters Kayla and Lynzie during their variety of sporting events throughout high school. His love for sports only continued to grow as he became a big fan of the Fighting Illini football team, the Chicago Bears, and Nascar. Michael also liked watching Man vs. Food and Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday October 1, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Internment will be at Stearns Cemetery following the service. Richard D. “Dick” Mills, 81, of Champaign, passed away at 6:30 pm on Friday, September 26, 2014, at his residence. He was born April 9, 1933 in Robinson Illinois, the son of Clarence and Dorrice Dowell Mills. Richard married Sharon Lascelles on January 15, 1966 in Havana, Illinois. She survives. Other survivors include his son, Richard L. Mills of Chicago; daughter, Robin (Steve) Mayfield of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Patricia Mills of Savoy; and 5 grandchildren, Camila, Ryan, and Cristina Mills, all of Savoy and Brianna and Courtney Mayfield of Clinton, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Roberta Rendfeld and brother-in-law, Robert Rendfeld. Dick graduated from Springfield High School in 1951, and then served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956. After serving his country, he enrolled in the School of Journalism at the University of Illinois, graduating in 1959. Dick was the General Manager and Vice President of C & U Poster Advertising Company for 20 years, from 1981 to 2001. In 1986, he was instrumental in petitioning Unit #4 Schools to adopt soccer as a varsity sport in Champaign Central, Centennial, and Urbana High Schools. He was a member of the Savoy United Methodist Church, and was an avid Illini sports fan as well as a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Richard D. Mills will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 5th, 2014 at the Savoy United Methodist Church, 3002 W Old Church Road, Champaign, Illinois. Pastor Marc Brown will be officiating services. TILTON – Carol Elizabeth Goings, 82, of Tilton passed away Friday, September 26, 2014 at Presence United Samaritan Medical Center in Danville. Carol was born October 7, 1931 in Tilton she was the daughter of Glen and Hazel (Osborne) Colby. She married Norman John “Jack” Goings on September 6, 1953 in Tilton, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1981. Carol worked for Teepak in Danville as a machine operator in the Shearing Department. She was a member of United Church of Tilton. Carol enjoyed following Republican politics, bowling, and reading. She especially loved just getting in the car and driving, whether it be to visit family, or taking the grandkids on a ride. Carol is survived by two daughters, Sally Jo (Jeff) Markel of Villa Grove, and Cindy Jean (Raymond) South of Oakwood; two brothers, Jim (Marilyn) Colby of Roseville and Norman (Judy) Colby of West Lebanon, IN; two sisters, Peg Smiley of Tilton and Mary Jo Garewal of Holtville, CA; eight grandchildren, Josh (Marci) Howard of Villa Grove, Justin (Ariel) Howard of Villa Grove, Joanna (Mike) Badgett of Villa Grove, Kristen (Jacob) Craig of Arcola, Maria Markel of Portland, OR, Andrea (David) Munoz of Westville, John (Katherine) Pollert of Georgetown and Bryan Youhas of Tilton; seventeen great grandchildren, Ethan, Lydia and Alexa Howard, Scarlett and Margot Howard, Michael, Eric and Hailey Badgett, Anna Craig, Hannah, Nathaniel, Lilyanna, Malia and Antonio Munoz, and Peyton, Sawyer and Paislee Pollert. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; an infant son, Norman John Goings, Jr.; four brothers, Bud, Elmer, Glendale and Kenneth Colby; and two sisters; Hazel Knapp and Sharon Colby. A service to celebrate Carol’s life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 2nd at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel of Westville. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Danville National Cemetery. Danville – Rhonda Kay Crippin, 51, of Danville passed away at 6:23 AM on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on November 14, 1962 in Danville to Robert Darrell and Joyce Goble Mingee. She is survived by two children, Kevin (Angie) Mahoney of Westville and Katie Crippin of Westville; her mother, Joyce Oakley of Danville; a sister, Tracy (Jeff) Wolfe of Danville; brother, Russ (Sheila) Mingee of Georgetown; two step-sisters, Lanette Judy and Linanne Shanks; and five grandchildren, Isaac, Tyler, and Alaina Mahoney, Arieana Hudson, and Kaiden Hasselbring. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert MIngee, and her step-father, Lynn Oakley. Rhonda had worked as a Deli Worker for Eagle’s Grocery Store and Price Less Foods. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching TV shows and sci-fi movies, and playing Euchre and Rummy. Rhonda also loved to spend time with her friends and family. The family would life to extend a special thank you to all of her close friends for their help in Rhonda’s time of need. Per Rhonda’s wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville.
